This is common question may usually arrive
on mind, those patients who are looking for kidney stone treatment, Urologist
or a nephrologist who will provide diagnose for kidney stone.
May we can assume a nephrologist will be
right person to provide treatment for kidney stone just because they are
responsible to deal with kidney problems, but it is not true.
In what circumstance doctors need to do kidney stone surgery instead of
medication and therapy.
Basically in medical science kidney stone
counts as urinary disease and urologists can take care of this. So we can say
that kidney stone used to treat by urologists. But this is not totally true
either.
Reality is that, everything is matters upon
the size of kidney stone, If the kidney stone is less than 5mm in size, possibly
can be easily treated by medicines and other alternative therapies. In that
case a urologist can take care of that, and will help you with respective
treatment. But the same as other side if kidney stone is bigger than 5mm or
more, than it will not possible to treat them with regular medicines. In that
case if doctors have to do surgery to remove then stone then surgery can be
only made by nephrologist.
